This entry into the Our Miami Public Space Challenge offers an interactive water playscape for adults and children alike to beat the heat.

The Miami Public Splash Zone, with its numerous water jets, benches and shade structures, provides a variety of ways to cool off and relax in a beautiful waterfront park setting.  Kids love playing in the light mists and jets. Adults enjoy sitting in the shade and dipping their toes in the refreshing water while watching their children have fun. Solar panels perform double duty to provide shade as well as electricity.  The power provided runs a wifi hotspot and the electronics necessary for control of the spray nozzles. A free custom app would be available to allow users to select from various spray nozzles in order to control when and where to spray.  It allows parents to interact with their kids without ever having to get wet with them. Of course, getting soaked with them is strongly encouraged as well.
