Pride of ownership shows through in this nicely maintained single family home. The owners are very knowledgeable regarding the current status of their home and how they would like to move forward to repurpose and better utilize space within the property. Moreland Architecture was hired to add creative insight to their ideas, and to help make them real. A sunken utility room, originally part of the garage, was in need of updating and was often subject to flooding. By creating a raised structural floor to match the adjacent rooms, the renovation will alleviate the flooding issue as well as make the space easier to access. Relocating the laundry room substantially increases the usable area, doubles as a mud room and secondary entry point, and provides a more central location for the wash. A future addition is also being considered based on available budget.
