With a unique blend of artistry, creativity, technology, honesty, and integrity, Randall Moreland has developed his architectural practice as an extension of his personality where sustainability is a preference, not a buzzword.  For meetings and site visits, Mr. Moreland walks or takes public transit whenever possible.  His hybrid car comes in handy as a last resort. Energy, water and resource conservation are some of his passions.

Born and raised just outside of Flint, Mi, Mr. Moreland developed a Midwestern work ethic which was honed further during college.  For the first year after undergraduate studies, he was hired as the department chair for a high school drafting magnet program and took his high-achieving students to state and national technology competitions. Mr. Moreland was honored to be chosen a county Rookie Teacher of the Year for his efforts.

After achieving a Masters of Architecture from the well respected University of Michigan school of Architecture, Mr. Moreland further pursued his career track in San Diego, CA.  While living and working in that lovely area of the county he met his future wife, who convinced him to move back to Florida.  This time Mr. Moreland took his talents to South Beach.

While working for two different large Miami firms, Mr. Moreland finished his architectural licensure and earned LEED AP certification.  With these credentials and a handful of projects lined up, he opened Moreland Architecture + Sustainable Design to address a lack of knowledge and effort regarding sustainability in South Florida.

As a licensed Real Estate Agent, Mr. Moreland provides a full package of aquisition and feasibility services to compliment the full scope of architectural services provided. Having a unique perspective and insight into issues of location / site selection, zoning / code compliance, budgeting, etc. allows Mr. Moreland to be a valuable resource when investing in real estate.

MA+SD Principal Randall Moreland has been named co-chair of the Miami American Institute of Architects (AIA) Committee on the Environment (COTE).  As the sustainable voice of the AIA, COTE works to advance design practices which integrate built and natural systems through advocacy to industry professionals, academics and the public.

MA+SD Principal Randall Moreland and his MoT design are featured in the July/August issue of gb&d (Green Building and Design Magazine).
